Meniscus injuries
Like a lot of different knee injuries The meniscus tear is also a type of knee injury that is painful and debilitating, meniscus injuries or meniscus tear are quite common and is one of the most frequently accuring injuries of the knee joint that involve cartilage.
Basically what is meniscus it is a part of cartilage in the knee that help to stabilize and cushions the knee. It protect the joint and the bones from any type of shock wear and tear but is a common injury that can be occurred due to any sudden twist of the knee. Maine uska injuries are more common in context sports that involves direct contact like football volleyball rugby or in sports that includes jumping.
Each of the knees have two sea shaped piece of cartilage that are called maniscus their might be feeling of block to the knee moment when this cartilage is torn.
Types of meniscus tear:-
There is a wide classification of types of meniscus tear that depends on the shape the location and the type of injury,
1) horizontal or cleavage tear- this type of tear generally runs parallel to the flat top of the Shillong and more likely to occur in the people who are over 40 years of age due to degeneration of the knee joint.
2) radial tear- this type of tear is perpendicular to both the top option bone and the long axis of the meniscus cartilage.
3) longitudinal aur vertical tear - this type of tear runs perpendicular to the flat top of the shin bond and parallel to the axis of the maniscus.
4) complex meniscus tear - includes the combination of horizontal and longitudinal meniscus tears.
Symptoms of meniscus tear:-
Like other knee injuries menus deer has also some of the most identical symptoms which can be mild to severe with the time. Most common Symptoms include:
- Extreme pain in the knee joint
- Swelling and stiffness of the joint
- A popping sensation during the injury
- Difficulty in bending or in straightening the leg
- Locking or catching of the knee
- Essentation of knee getting stucked or giving way
